Children’s Day was introduced as International Children’s Day in Poland in 1952. The period coincides with the onset of the summer season in the country. Moreover, the school ends during this time. In this day, special programs and activities pertaining to the festival are organized for the kids in schools. Some of them include outdoor plays and field trips. The entire first week of June is engaged in different festivities for the kids.

Parks and entertainment centers are beautifully decorated and lit offering games and activities for youngsters, thereby adding to the joys of the festival. Celebrations usually include delivering of speeches on children’s rights and well being. Various programs are telecasted on the television and parties are organized, especially for the kids on this day. Visits to cinemas and theaters are also organized by the schools. Parents purchase numerous small gifts, usually sweets, for their children.

The Manggha Center of Japanese Art and Technology, situated in Kraków, Poland, organized the Japanese Children’s Day in the beginning of May. Children were exposed to different workshops organized by the Manggha’s staff. Kids were taught to do origami, draw Japanese letters and read Japanese fairy tales.

“Architecture in Motion” – an exhibition on the architecture of Warsaw for children (May 27 – June 4) 2017
Location: SOHO Factory, Mińska 25 Street (Praga), 
Entrance: 5 PLN;
Opening hours: Monday – Friday; 3 pm – 7 pm, Weekend: 12 pm – 6 pm. 
The exhibition is dedicated to kids – they wear hard hats and play and construct (and demolish;) buildings.
The Most Beautiful Ballets for Children (01.06.)
Location: Palladium Theatre, Złota 9 Street (city center);
Time: 10.00 - 18.30
Performance includes among others Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake. After the performance, there will be a chance to meet the artists.

Location: Wilanów Palace Garden, Jezioro Wilanowskie (Lake), you need to buy entrance tickets to the Garden (booking was not required), 
Time: 11 am – 6 pm. 
An event dedicated to kids 3-8 years old. Picnic with sun chairs and blankets. Kids will have a chance to build their own palaces with different types of blocks.
Warsaw Comic Con (June 1-4 )
In addition to many conferences, workshops, meetings, there were something interesting for children of different ages: kids zone, Lego exhibition, Star Wars zone, My Little Pony, an exhibition of film cars, cosplay, Game of Thrones zone.

21st Science Picnic for Kids (Piknik Naukowy) (June 3)
Location: Stadion Narodowy / National Stadium (Praga). 
A huge outdoor event promoting science, organized by the Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Centre in cooperation with 205 universities, research institutes, museums, cultural institutions from Poland and abroad. They present the behind-the-scenes aspects of their everyday work through experiments, demonstrations and interactive exhibits. 
Free entrance; 
Time: 11 am – 8 pm.
Little Fireman Day (June 3, 2017)
Location: School of Fire Service (Szkoła Główna Służby Pożarniczej), Słowackiego 52/54 Street (Żoliborz), entrance from Szczepanowskiego Street (Lelewela Square), 
Free entrance, 
Time: 11 am – 3 pm. 
The outdoor event aimed at the integration of children with disabilities. The program includes photos in the fire truck, trying on a fireman’s outfit, playground, concerts, performances, bubble soccer, zorbing, clown and illusion show, and more
