Later, Emily performed  with the first group of her famous niece Dionne Warwik “Gospelaires”. And then she entered the quartet “Sweet Inspirations”.

Father John Houston was a manager of his wife, when  Emily  was in the show business. When Whitney was born , John remained in the household, to look after her. “He was Mom's support network while she was out on tour.” said Whitney, in tribute to her father. “He changed diapers, cooked, did my hair and dressed me, all the while providing Mom with advice and answers.”
