WATER POLLUTION Settlements. The most famous source of water pollution, which traditionally focuses on are domestic sewage. Dissolved in the effluent are present soaps, synthetic detergents, disinfectants, bleaches and other household chemical substances. From apartment buildings supplied paper waste, including toilet paper and baby diapers, waste of plant and animal foods. On the streets in the rain and sewer drains meltwater, often with sand or salt used to accelerate the melting of snow and ice on the roadway streets and sidewalks.

Industry. In industrialized countries, the main consumer of water and the largest source of waste is industry. Industrial effluents into rivers by volume is 3 times higher than municipal . Because of the increasing amount of industrial waste disturbed the ecological balance of the many lakes and rivers , although most of the waste is non-toxic and is not fatal to humans.
