History Moscow is the capital of Russia, its political, economic and cultural centre. It was founded by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky in 1147. Moscow began with the Kremlin. It was built of oak logs, and in 1367 Prince Dmitri Donskoi built a wall of white stone around the Kremlin hill. Tzar Ivan III built new walls and towers of red brick, as we see them today. The Spasskaya Tower is the tallest tower of the Kremlin: 71 metres tall. It was built in 1491. The Kremlin is the oldest historical and architectural centre of Moscow. Its three cathedrals, the Bell Tower of Ivan the Great, the palaces attract the tourists' attention. The Tzar Cannon and the Tzar Bell, the biggest cannon and bell in the world, are also in the Kremlin.

The heart of Moscow is Red Square, the central and the most beautiful square in Moscow. Here one can see St.Basil's Сathedral.
