60% of Drivers Have Felt “Drowsy” In one survey of 1,456 adult drivers, 60 percent reported that they had driven while feeling drowsy at least once within the past year. Thirty-seven percent said they had "nodded off or fallen asleep" while driving a vehicle at least once in their life.

Not Just a Problem at Night Drowsiness isn’t just a problem after the sun goes down. According to one survey, equal amounts of incidents (more than one-quarter) occurred in the afternoon (noon to 6 p.m.) and between midnight and 6 a.m.
