Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules

Game rules: The complete rules are extensive. But simply, play proceeds as follows: A player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. They may touch the ball as many as three times. Typically, the first two touches are used to set up for an attack, an attempt to direct the ball back over the net in such a way that the serving team is unable to prevent it from being grounded in their court.

In development of game of its rule, the technician and tactics were constantly improved. Key rules, a part from which has reached up to now, were generated in 1915-1925: since 1917 party draw has been limited by 15 points, and the grid height has made 243 sm; in 1918 the quantity of players on a platform — six has been defined; since 1922 it is authorized no more than three contacts of a ball; in 1925 the modern sizes of a platform, the sizes and weight of a volleyball ball are confirmed. These rules were applied in the countries of America, Africa and Europe while in Asia up to the beginning of 1960th years played by own rules: with nine or twelve players on a platform 11х22 m without change of positions by players during a match.
