The first who had confronted with terrifying consequences of the accident were operators of a shift and firefighters. It took 10 days to put out the fire after explosion.

Over 100 radioactive elements released during the explosion. The fallout from Chernobyl reached as far as Canada and the United States. But the most heavily affected areas were in Ukraine,Belarus,and Russia.
